Essex Heist is one of those films that kind of sneaks up on you. You've got Jez, this down-on-his-luck mechanic, who's really just trying to get by with his crew in a small Essex town. The atmosphere feels gritty and real, almost like you're there with them, sweating it out. The pacing is interesting, not too slow but also not rushed, giving you time to soak in the desperation of their situation. The performances are solid, especially from the lead, who nails that mix of charm and desperation. The heist plan itself? It's elaborate, certainly, and the execution has a raw, almost DIY vibe. It's a crime story but feels very much rooted in that struggling working-class experience.
Gritty atmosphere with a working-class struggleInteresting pacing that builds tensionSolid performances with a compelling lead
