Exposure (2017) dives deep into the murky waters of obsession and the ethics of art. The film's tone is unsettling, almost voyeuristic, as we follow this photographer who’s drawn into the lives of strangers, capturing their raw moments without consent. The pacing is deliberate, allowing tension to build as he tracks a drug user, leading to an almost inevitable climax that forces you to question the morality of his craft. While the performances are understated, they carry an intensity that grips you. It’s distinctive in how it explores humanity's darker side, using practical effects sparingly to emphasize the reality of what’s happening rather than glamorizing it. A thought-provoking piece for sure, but not for the faint-hearted.
