Face (2004) really dives into the dark edges of the human psyche, blending crime and horror in a pretty unsettling way. The film revolves around a serial killer who uses acid to dispose of his victims, leaving behind nothing but bones. It’s got this grim atmosphere that just creeps under your skin. Hyun-min, a forensic sculptor, is called in to help, and his journey is layered with a father’s desperation and a chilling investigation. The practical effects here are quite striking, especially in how they portray the aftermath of the killer’s gruesome work. The pacing is deliberate, building tension and unease, and there’s just enough suspense to keep you engaged without feeling rushed. Definitely a unique entry in the genre.
