Family of Cops is kind of a gritty exploration of family ties and the moral complexities of police work. Directed by Ted Kotcheff, the film has this raw, unpolished vibe that really draws you in. Paul Fein's performance as the seasoned detective is solid, and the tension between him and his son Eddie adds a nice layer of conflict. The pacing meanders a bit, but it fits the character-driven narrative. The atmosphere is thick with family drama, especially with Jacki's wild-child persona clashing against her father's stoic nature. You get a real sense of the stakes involved when the investigation leads back to the family itself. Not your typical TV movie, for sure.
