Feeding Grounds, released in 2006, is an interesting blend of horror and science fiction. You’ve got this young group of friends heading out to a cabin in the desert, which immediately sets a tense tone. The isolation is palpable, and as they discover something has landed out there, the pacing ramps up nicely. The atmosphere is thick with dread, making you feel that something’s always lurking just out of sight. The practical effects, while not top-tier, have a certain gritty charm that adds to the overall unease. The performances are decent, especially considering the lesser-known cast. There’s a rawness here, a willingness to go for the unsettling rather than the polished. It’s definitely a unique watch for genre enthusiasts.
