Fifteen is quite the experience, really. It captures Cairo's sweltering summer with this intense, almost stifling atmosphere. You follow this quiet teenager, a boy who drags a baby along, and that contrast says so much without needing to spell it out. His journey to the hospital is just as much about physical space as it is about emotional turmoil. The pacing is deliberate, allowing you to sit in the discomfort of his world, which is pretty haunting. Sameh Alaa's direction strikes a balance between stark realism and compassion, and the performance from the lead is strikingly subtle yet loaded with weight. It’s raw, unfiltered, and definitely lingers in your mind long after the credits roll.
Cinematography captures the heat and chaos of Cairo well. The lead performance is understated, making it feel real.Themes of trauma and silence resonate throughout the film.
