Final Ascent has this gritty, raw feel that you don't often find in TV movies from the early 2000s. The action unfolds in the rugged Rocky Mountains, where our protagonist, a seemingly ordinary guy, gets caught in a web of deception and greed involving a crew of not-so-friendly thieves. The pacing can be a bit uneven at times, but it adds to the tension, keeping you guessing. Practical effects are decent, and the performances, though not Oscar-worthy, have a certain charm that draws you in. It’s got that ‘survival against the odds’ vibe, which pairs well with the unforgiving mountain backdrop. Definitely an interesting watch if you're into outdoor adventure stories with a darker twist.
