Finding North is this offbeat comedy-drama that has a real raw feel to it. You've got Rhonda, this quirky bankteller with hair that could probably double as a parachute, who stumbles upon Travis in a pretty bizarre moment. The pacing's interesting; it kind of drags in parts but it’s a deliberate choice that builds that awkwardness between the two leads. The film tackles some heavy themes, especially around sexuality and loss, which makes the comedic bits hit differently. The performances are pretty solid, especially with the leads bringing a certain vulnerability. And the whole Brooklyn to Texas backdrop adds a nice contrast to their journey. It’s definitely a unique take on love and understanding.
