First Love (2004) really digs into some unsettling themes, exploring obsession and body image through Vittorio's warped lens. The film has this tense atmosphere, a mix of drama and horror that keeps you on edge. Vittorio's fixation on molding Sonia into his ideal is both disturbing and strangely poignant, showing how love can twist into something unrecognizable. The pacing is deliberate, letting the tension simmer without rushing to conclusions, which I found refreshing. The performances, especially the chemistry between the leads, add layers to this dark romance. It’s not your typical love story, and that’s what makes it distinctive – it’s raw and uncomfortable, but you can’t help but be drawn into the complexities of their relationship.
