So, this film, Foot Candle, or as it's sometimes known, Origin of the Species, is really something else. The way it utilizes melted wax to create its animation is just bizarre and fascinating. You get this weirdly visceral experience watching human body parts molded in silicone, then cast in colored wax, and when they melt with a blowtorch, it creates this surreal, almost nightmarish atmosphere. It’s not conventional; the pacing feels off-kilter, which somehow fits the themes of creation and destruction.
