Force 10 from Navarone has this gritty, rough-around-the-edges vibe. Guy Hamilton directs with a certain flair, mixing adventure and drama that feels very much in line with the WWII films of the era. You'll notice the pacing shifts, sometimes languid, then quickening with tension—almost like a rollercoaster through wartime Yugoslavia. The practical effects are decent for the time, and they make the action sequences pop in a way CGI often can’t replicate. The performances are solid too, with Robert Shaw and Edward Fox bringing depth to their characters, making you care about them despite the odds. It’s a sequel that's not just riding on the coat-tails of its predecessor, but feels like a genuine extension of that world.
