Fourteen Colors of the Rainbow, from 2000, is this odd little thriller that really tries to mix tension with an almost philosophical quest. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, which I find adds to its charm—like it’s unsure if it wants to be a chase movie or a deep dive into human desperation. The atmosphere is thick, almost claustrophobic, enhanced by some decent practical effects. The performances stand out too, especially the intellectual companion, who brings this kind of conflicted energy. And then there's the backdrop of poachers and a cult, which adds a layer of moral ambiguity that keeps you contemplating long after it's over. It's a unique experience, for sure, without trying to be something it’s not.
