Friday the 13th Part 2 really dives into the slasher vibe, picking up with a fresh group of counselors that are blissfully unaware of the dark history of Camp Crystal Lake. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and Miner really nails that slow-burn tension. You can feel the weight of what happened five years prior, and it's almost palpable. The practical effects are pretty impressive for the time, bringing a rawness to the kills that CGI just can't replicate. The performances, especially from Amy Steel, ground the horror in something relatable. It's interesting how the film shifts from the legend of Pamela Voorhees to introducing Jason as the new face of terror, setting up future sequels. Quite the significant turning point in the franchise.
Five years after the Camp Crystal Lake murders.Introduces Jason Voorhees as the main antagonist.Notable for its practical effects and suspenseful pacing.
