So, Fright Night Part 2 is this interesting blend of comedy and horror that picks up a few years after the first film. Charley Brewster, now in college, has been through some therapy, really convinced that Jerry Dandridge was just a serial killer masquerading as a vampire. The pacing is kind of quirky, and the atmosphere mixes a bit of dark humor with the classic horror vibe. Regine, this new vampire, has some theatrical flair, and the practical effects, while not groundbreaking, have their charm. The performances can be a bit over-the-top, which adds to that campy feeling. You get a sense of personal stakes here, which I think makes it stand out from typical sequels.
