So, there's this interesting piece from Nobuhiko Obayashi called "From the theme of Mahoroba". It’s a documentary—yeah, but it doesn’t feel like your everyday doc. It’s more of a visual poem, really. Obayashi dives into the life and work of Genjiro Ohno, who’s been capturing the essence of Akita Prefecture for over a decade. You get to see these landscapes and people, and it’s not just about the images but the stories they tell. The pacing is deliberate, kind of meditative. You can really feel the connection Ohno has with his subjects. It’s all about the atmosphere, the little details that make up life there. A distinctive take on both documentary and art, I’d say.
