Frostbite is an interesting entry in the horror genre, set in the 1890s. It follows this monster hunter, who's out in the snowy wilderness, tracking down this elusive and really dangerous creature. The tone is pretty atmospheric, capturing that isolation and dread you’d expect from the setting. The pacing can be a bit uneven at times, but it builds tension well, especially as the hunter delves deeper into the snow-covered woods. The practical effects are a standout here, lending a tangible quality to the monster that digital effects just can’t replicate. The performances, while not groundbreaking, do convey a sense of desperation and determination that fits the film's vibe. It's got a certain rawness that makes it distinctive in a sea of polished horror films.
