So, 'Get It Together' is one of those comedies that leans heavily on the dynamics of friendship and awkward romance. The pacing is pretty snappy, making it feel like a whirlwind of misadventures as the protagonist keeps trying (and failing) to woo this girl who's already taken. The atmosphere has this fun, chaotic vibe, and there are some decent practical effects used in the wild party scenes that give it a bit of a retro feel. Performances are solid across the board, especially from the guy playing the lead - he really captures that desperate charm. While it might not break new ground, it does a nice job of exploring themes of loyalty and the lengths we go for love, all wrapped in a light-hearted package.
This film had a limited release, which makes it somewhat harder to find in physical formats. Currently, itβs mostly available through streaming platforms, but I'm curious to see if any boutique labels will pick it up for a collector's edition down the line. The blend of modern comedy with some classic elements has piqued the interest of genre enthusiasts, and I'm sure it will draw attention at conventions and among collectors who appreciate quirky indie films.
