Giallo is a bit of a divisive entry in Argento's filmography, but it's got that signature style that draws you in. The film weaves a tense atmosphere with its dark visuals and unsettling score. You can really feel the tension build as Inspector Avolfi, played with a gritty edge, hunts down the sadistic Yellow. The pacing's a bit uneven at times, but it adds to the sense of confusion and dread. There’s a curious blend of crime and horror here, with some practical effects that harken back to his earlier works. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's something intriguing about how it plays with the giallo genre's conventions.
