Gillespie is one of those lesser-known horror flicks that creeps up on you. The pacing is interesting, it kind of lingers in that uncomfortable space where you’re not quite sure when the tension will snap. This businessman, he’s hiding something dark, and when the door-to-door salesman shows up, it feels like the walls are closing in. The atmosphere is thick, almost suffocating at times, and the practical effects, while not groundbreaking, have this gritty charm that enhances the unsettling vibe. Performances are solid, with a real sense of desperation and dread. It's not your typical horror fare, but there's something about its examination of inner demons that leaves a mark. Definitely a unique piece in the genre.
