Glider (2001) really pulls you into this surreal world where the past and future collide in a way that feels both familiar and alien. The visuals are striking, and you can tell that there's a lot of thought put into the optical effects, making it feel like a dream you can’t quite grasp. The pacing is deliberately slow, which gives you time to absorb the atmosphere—it’s like wandering through a gallery of moving art. Definitely gives off a vibe of exploring uncharted territories, both literally and metaphorically. It's a unique piece in the experimental film landscape, and you can’t help but appreciate its ambition.
Glider hasn't seen much in terms of format releases, which makes finding a decent copy a bit tricky. It originally had a limited run, so it’s not something you come across often. Collector interest seems to be rising as more people discover Ernie Gehr's work; it has a certain allure for those who appreciate the avant-garde and experimental film scene.
