Golden Times is a moody exploration of human connection, or the lack thereof, really. It immerses you in a world where every interaction feels both fleeting and heavy. The film's pacing is deliberately slow, which enhances the sense of isolation that permeates the night. The street lamps cast an almost haunting glow, contrasting beautifully with the characters' struggles. Maximilian Nita's direction is subtle yet powerful, using very little in terms of practical effects but relying on raw performances that convey so much with just a glance or a sigh. You really feel the weight of loneliness as these nameless souls drift from one kiosk to another, their stories intertwining in the shadows. There's a certain rhythm to their staggering that feels strangely poetic.
