So, 'Guidance' is this interesting little drama from 2009 that really dives into the murky waters of motivation and purpose. The lead character, Roy, is this guy who's lost his way, spending his days in a haze of indifference. His wife's frustration leads him to an alternative treatment that's, well, pretty bizarre. The therapist he encounters is peculiar, to say the least, making for some uncomfortable moments that leave you wondering about the therapy's legitimacy. The atmosphere is a blend of awkwardness and dark humor, and while the pacing may feel erratic at times, it all serves to highlight Roy's internal struggles. The performances aren't flashy, but they feel genuine, which adds a layer of authenticity to the unfolding drama. Quite a distinctive piece, really.
