Hack House is an interesting dive into an unsettling setup. A government witness trapped with a bunch of violent criminals – it plays with tension in a way that feels raw and unrefined. The atmosphere is heavy, almost oppressive, as each character brings their own unpredictability to the mix. The pacing can be jarring, with moments of stark stillness followed by sudden bursts of violence that really keep you on edge. While the performances might not hit every mark, there’s something compelling about how real each character feels, flaws and all. Practical effects are used sparingly but effectively, adding to the grim tone without overshadowing the story. It's definitely one of those films that sticks with you, partly because of its themes of survival and moral ambiguity.
