Hagar is this fascinating exploration of unexpected connections, right? The film has this raw and intimate atmosphere, quite unlike many dramas out there. You’ve got Hagar, a female taxi driver, who picks up this ultra-Orthodox guy, and the night just unfolds in ways you wouldn’t expect. It’s all about these two very different worlds colliding—there’s tension but also this really profound understanding that grows. The pacing is rather deliberate, which gives you time to sit with the characters; it feels very organic. The performances are quite strong, particularly how they navigate their differences and vulnerabilities. It’s really distinct in its portrayal of societal norms and personal desire, you know? It’s one of those films that lingers in your mind.
