Half-blood is an interesting mix of familial warmth and inner turmoil. Franck’s connection with horses is something special; you can feel the patience he has with them, almost like a soothing balm. But his struggle to communicate with Zita adds this uneasy tension. It’s fascinating how the film captures that, shifting between tranquil moments with the horses and the awkwardness at home. The pacing is reflective, allowing us to soak in these quiet scenes, but it also leaves you wanting to understand Franck more deeply. There’s a rawness in the performances, and while the director remains unknown, the film's ability to present such a nuanced character study is quite memorable.
