Half Tank is this tense little thriller that really nails the feeling of paranoia. The pacing is deliberate, almost agonizing at times, which adds to the overall sense of dread. You watch this guy, just an ordinary dude, spiraling as he believes he's being followed. The atmosphere is thick, and they use practical effects rather sparingly, but when they do, it hits hard. There's a rawness to the performances that keeps you guessing β you can really feel the guy's anxiety seep through. What makes it distinctive is how it plays with your perception; is he really being followed or is it all in his head? It leaves you hanging in a lot of ways, which is pretty refreshing.
