Hallows Point is one of those obscure horror flicks that really leans into the atmosphere of dread. It takes place in this dilapidated schoolhouse, which is really a character in itself—creaky floors, shadows that seem to move, you know the vibe. The pacing is a bit uneven, but it builds tension well, especially in the moments when the students realize what they've unleashed. The practical effects are decent for a low-budget film; there’s something refreshing about seeing real gore instead of CGI. The performances from the cast—mostly unknowns—carry a raw edge that adds to the overall sense of despair. It’s definitely a unique take on the trapped-in-a-haunted-place trope, and its themes of responsibility and consequence hang heavy throughout.
