Handy Man is kind of an oddball in the horror genre. This film dives deep into voyeurism, and it's all captured through Henricks' unsettling Hi-8 camera work. The whole vibe feels secretive, almost invasive, as he documents two unsuspecting workers in his courtyard. The pacing is slow, which really builds the tension, making each glance feel heavy with anticipation. There’s a certain rawness to the performances that adds to the discomfort. It really pushes the boundaries of watching and being watched, and the way it handles the male body as an erotic object is quite distinct. It's not your typical horror flick, more of an unsettling meditation on observation. Definitely has its own unique atmosphere, for sure.
