Happy Hours is quite an interesting little gem from 2021, though you’ll find it was actually filmed back between 2008 and 2010. It has this offbeat charm, capturing the absurdity of adult life with a quirky sense of humor. The pacing feels loose, almost like a slice-of-life vibe where the situations just unfold in a seemingly random manner. The characters, three rather silly adults, are hilariously unhelpful to one another, which adds to the film's comedic tension. There's a very DIY feel to it, especially since it was edited during the pandemic—gives it a rawness that you don't see in bigger productions. The performances are endearingly awkward, which really fits the tone of the film. It's definitely got its own weirdness that makes it stand out.
