Haunted House (2014) is a curious piece, really. It takes segments from Bud Fischer's 1928 SLICK SLEUTHS and reanimates them through rotoscope, creating this looped visual experience that’s both eerie and fascinating. The animation style feels like a bridge between the past and the present, with a haunting atmosphere that lingers. You get this eerie vibe throughout, almost as if the original film's spirit is trying to escape. The pacing is deliberate, almost hypnotic, letting you sink into the visuals. It really makes you think about the interplay between animation and the history of cinema. A distinctive experiment, and not your everyday animated feature for sure.
