The practical effects are a highlight – you can really see the effort in bringing this grotesque creature to life. And the whole atmosphere is a mix of campy charm and genuine eeriness. It’s distinctive, for sure, especially with its themes of obsession and the consequences of playing God. Totally a niche gem if you ask me.
