So, 'Hiker' from 2003 is this really raw documentary that gets under your skin, you know? It’s all handheld, which at times feels shaky and almost disorienting, but it totally adds to that mounting tension as we follow this woman scaling the Matterhorn. The horror score in the background? It's like a sinister character in itself, creeping you out while you're focused on her ascent. What strikes me is the lack of reverse shots; you can’t shake the feeling that something's lurking behind her. It plays heavily on that first-person 'killer POV' trope, which makes the whole experience feel unsettling. The combination of atmosphere and pacing really pulls you in, keeping you on edge throughout. Kinda unique, I’d say.
Interesting use of handheld camera techniques.Unique blend of documentary and horror elements.Explores themes of isolation and fear of the unknown.
