Hikers in Saint-Tropez has this laid-back vibe, right? You’ve got four friends reuniting after a decade, which is always a mixed bag. The setting of the Côte d’Azur really contrasts with their past disaster in Corsica, making the beach scenes feel almost too picturesque, in a way. They’re all trying to escape their previous trauma with that awful guide, Eric, who’s basically like a bad penny showing up again. The pacing's light, breezy but never drags, keeping it fun. The comedy comes from the characters’ interactions more than slapstick, which feels refreshing. The performances are solid, especially the awkwardness when they run into Eric. It's kind of a commentary on friendship and the baggage we carry, but in a light tone. It’s got some charm, for sure.
Great for casual summer viewingInteresting take on friendshipGood mix of humor and character development
