Home Alone 4 is a bit of a departure from the earlier films, with a new cast and a TV movie vibe that feels different right off the bat. The pacing meanders a bit, and while it tries to keep that slapstick energy, it doesn't quite hit the same highs as its predecessors. There's some charm in the setup—Kevin now navigating his parents' split during Christmas—and Marv, returning with a new partner, adds a bit of nostalgia, but it doesn't quite recapture that original magic. The performances are all right, but you can tell they were working with a smaller budget. Interesting to see how they tried to create a lavish mansion setting, though logistics around practical effects don't always land. Definitely a curiosity for collectors.
