Horror House on Highway 6 is a curious mix of absurdity and dread. The premise kicks off when a college student's freak accident with a soda machine lands him in a bizarre doctor's care. Set in a dank bomb shelter and laced with eccentricities, the doc's obsession with Elvis adds a layer of dark humor. The pacing is a bit uneven, but it builds a consistent sense of claustrophobia as the group realizes they can't escape the shelter. The killer with an ax definitely amps up the tension, making it a real threat. Practical effects are present, giving it that gritty charm. It's not polished, but that rawness and strange atmosphere make it stand out in the indie horror scene.
