Horrorscope is an interesting trip through three distinct horror tales, each with its own flavor of dread. The first segment introduces a troubled musician, plummeting into madness as he grapples with creative block, and inadvertently calls forth a malevolent spirit that ups the ante for his sanity. The second story shifts gears to a couple at a pool hall, where their night of fun spirals into something much darker β the atmosphere is thick with tension and an underlying sense of foreboding. The practical effects, though sometimes rough around the edges, add a certain charm that enhances the eerie vibe. The pacing varies, some moments dragging while others hit like a freight train, creating a unique rhythm that keeps you guessing.
