So, 'Hot Dog' is an interesting blend of action and comedy, really. It follows these two Tactical Units Police Officers who couldn't be more different. You've got the hard-nosed veteran and the rookie who's still figuring it all out. The dynamic between them is where a lot of the humor comes from, mixed in with some over-the-top action sequences. The pacing is a bit uneven at times but it fits the goofy tone they’re going for. There’s a surprising amount of practical effects, which adds a certain charm. The performances, while not always polished, bring a genuine feel to the relationships on screen. It's not your run-of-the-mill buddy cop flick, that's for sure.
