Hunting Grounds is an interesting blend of horror and sci-fi set in the eerie deserts of Roswell, New Mexico. It really nails that documentary-style aesthetic, which gives it a raw, unsettling vibe. The film follows a group of college students who stumble into something far beyond their comprehension. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, but it adds to the tension, creating a sense of dread. The practical effects, often overshadowed in modern cinema, are done pretty well here, lending a gritty realism to the encounters. Performances vary, but there’s a certain authenticity in their fear that pulls you in. It’s not your typical alien flick, and I think that’s what makes it stand out in the genre.
