So 'Husband of the Baskervilles' is an interesting watch from 1990, blending action with a somewhat twisted narrative. The backdrop is gritty, and it dives into the psychology of its characters, especially this orphan named Asya raised by the criminal Bovarin. Her fierce loyalty to him and the lengths she's willing to go for love introduces a raw intensity throughout. The pacing has these moments where it slows down to really explore Asya’s transformation, which is quite engaging. The performances are a bit over-the-top at times but fit the tone of the film. You can definitely feel the urgency when things pick up, especially during the action sequences, which, while not groundbreaking, have their own charm. It's certainly an atypical take on the genre with some practical effects that add to its unique feel.
