Hustlers, or Veijarit in its native Finnish, is an interesting dive into the lives of thirty-somethings grappling with their stunted growth, caught between adolescence and adulthood. The film weaves together comedy and drama with a raw authenticity that's hard to shake off. The performances, especially by Mikko Leppilampi, are pretty layered—he captures that 'kolkyttoistavuotiaat' vibe perfectly. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it adds to the feeling of disarray in their lives. Themes of escapism and the struggle with responsibility are front and center, which is what really gives it a distinctive flavor. You can feel the director's take on the concept of 'arjensietokyvyttömyys' resonating throughout, which is quite fascinating to unpack.
