I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, directed by Danny Cannon, leans heavily into that atmospheric dread that permeates a lot of late '90s slashers. Julie's constant paranoia about the Fisherman really sets the tone, making the viewer feel that weight of trauma. The script plays with themes of guilt and fear, which are pretty central to the slasher genre. You also get some solid practical effects that hold up surprisingly well, given the era. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, especially with some drawn-out scenes, but those moments really build tension. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brandy bring good performances that keep it engaging, even when things get a bit out of hand. It's definitely got that mid-'90s vibe that collectors appreciate, for better or worse.
