I Want to Go Higher captures the messy transition to adulthood through a raw lens. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Thailand, we follow four male models whose retreat quickly descends into chaos. Instead of self-discovery, we get a lot of carefree nudity, scooter rides, and flirty antics. The documentary feels almost voyeuristic at times. You can sense these guys are trying to fill a void, yet their attempts feel empty, which is where the film's strength lies. It's unpolished but real, showcasing a modern take on youth culture with an undercurrent of existential angst. Definitely not your conventional doc, but it lingers long after the credits roll.
Examination of modern masculinity and its pitfallsAn intimate portrayal that feels almost like a fly-on-the-wall experienceThe contrast between luxury and emotional emptiness
