Icarus is an intriguing blend of adventure and drama set against the backdrop of a Mars colony. The atmosphere is tense, especially when Emilia Riley, played with a palpable sense of determination, ventures out for what should be a routine satellite repair. The pacing really ramps up, particularly when her son Chris, driven by instinctive love and fear, decides to follow her into the unknown. The film does a nice job of exploring themes of isolation and familial bonds, and while the practical effects aren't groundbreaking, they serve the narrative well. The performances feel genuine, drawing you into their emotional struggles as they navigate the vastness of space and their own fears. It's not your standard sci-fi fare, but that's what makes it stand out.
