So, 'In the Flesh' is this intense blend of drama and horror that really digs into some dark themes. Ted, the office manager, starts off pretty unlikable, which adds an interesting layer to the whole kidnapping scenario orchestrated by Jeremy. The pacing is quite deliberate, heightening the tension as Ted plays his part in this twisted charade. The atmosphere is heavy, almost suffocating at times, which really works to highlight Jeremy's grief and desperation. Now, the practical effects aren’t over the top but serve to ground the story, making the emotional weight feel very real. Performances are solid, especially how Ted navigates this bizarre situation. It's distinctive, for sure, with that focus on character over spectacle, which you don’t see every day.
