Indio (1989) is a curious blend of action and adventure, set against the lush backdrop of the Amazon. You got this half-breed Marine, Marvelous Marvin, who's not your typical hero. The film's tone oscillates between gritty and almost whimsical, especially when you consider how it portrays the clash between man and nature. Pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, but that's part of its charm, I suppose. There are some practical effects that stand out β not groundbreaking, but they have a certain gritty appeal that fits the jungle setting. Marvin's performance is surprisingly engaging; he brings depth to a character that could've easily just been another action archetype. Itβs a bit of a hidden gem in the genre, for sure.
