Interference, or Udenrigskorrespondenten, is a curious piece from '83 with a raw, documentary-like quality. It follows Alex Hansen, played by Henning Jensen, a journalist wandering through the chaos of El Salvador's civil war. The pacing is meditative, allowing the viewer to soak in the atmosphere of despair and resilience. There’s a starkness in the visuals that complements the heavy themes of war and displacement. The film leans more towards an experimental narrative than traditional drama, which gives it a unique, somewhat disjointed feel. Performances are naturalistic, capturing the struggle and tumultuous emotions of the time. It's definitely something different, not quite conventional but engaging in its own right.
