So, 'It Exists' is one of those films that kind of creeps up on you. Directed by Dharma Aizat, it spins a tale around a group of teens who decide to explore an abandoned theme park, which is already a solid setup. The atmosphere is thick with tension from the start, and it does a great job of building unease as they play this 'spirit of the coin' game. The pacing is pretty deliberate, which makes the eventual horror feel earned rather than cheap. Plus, the practical effects used are effective, giving a raw edge that you don’t see in many contemporary horror flicks. The performances, especially among the group, feel real and relatable, which is always a plus in this genre. It’s that kind of film that lingers in your mind after the credits roll.
Check out the practical effects; they're quite impressive. The character dynamics add depth to the horror experience.Interesting take on urban exploration themes.
