So, 'January'āit's set in 1991 Latvia, and you really feel that tension in the air, you know? The story follows Jazis, a young guy trying to figure out his passion for cinematography while everything around him is falling apart. The protests against the Soviet Army are powerful and emotional, and there's this rawness to it all. The performances are pretty heartfelt and give you a real sense of the stakes involved. The atmosphere is heavy with the weight of history, but there's also this glimmer of hope woven through. Iād say the pacing is reflective, allowing you to soak in the struggles and triumphs of the characters. Definitely an interesting slice of life during a pivotal moment in history.
