Jingi 47: Yakuza Retaliation War is an interesting chapter in the long-running yakuza series. While the director remains a mystery, the film carries the familiar gritty tone that fans expect. The pacing feels deliberate, giving moments of tension a chance to breathe before the action erupts. Takeuchi Riki and Sakakibara Toshihiko deliver solid performances, really embodying their characters' conflicting loyalties and moral dilemmas. Practical effects are a highlight here, with some visceral fight scenes that stick with you. The film explores themes of honor and vengeance in the yakuza underworld, which is always a rich vein to mine. It might not break new ground, but it feels like a comfortable, if violent, return to form for the series.
