Kanden Kadhalai is a rather intriguing romance that captures a slice of life with its unique approach to relationships. The film opens with Sakthivel, who’s in a pretty dark place emotionally, and then we have Anjali, all vibrant and full of life. Their chance meeting on a train injects some much-needed brightness into Sakthivel's world. It’s interesting how the narrative weaves in themes of selflessness, as he resolves to help her reconnect with her true love, even while grappling with his feelings for her. The pacing feels right for a romance; it breathes, allowing moments to linger. Performances are decent, and there's a certain warmth throughout that makes it distinct, blending realism with the romantic. It’s not your usual straightforward love story, which is refreshing in its own way.
